Speakers25031025.03.2010 Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President, welcomed around 300 guests to the Society of Biology's launch event. An event that truly celebrated the diversity of the biosciences, and emphasised the value of working together as a single voice. The Society of Biology's launch event was held on Thursday 25th March 2010 at Fishmonger's Hall, London Bridge.

Sir David Attenborough, Dr Ceri Harrop and Sir Paul Nurse

Sir David Attenborough (well-known science broadcaster and presenter, and Honorary Fellow of the Society), Dr Ceri Harrop (postdoctoral researcher and science communicator, University of Manchester) and Sir Paul Nurse (President of the Rockefeller University, New York) each spoke from their experience of the challenges facing the biosciences today.

Nancy Rothwell presented Sir Paul Nurse with an Honorary Fellowship, and guests enjoyed the opportunity to meet and talk at the reception that followed.
